My name is Philip Sherwin and I live in Bedford, New Hampshire. I am 6'0" and weigh 140 lbs. I run on the cross country, indoor and outdoor track teams and am a captain for all three seasons this year. I have run on these teams since freshman year and love the program. I hope to be able to run both cross country and track in college. Usually at practice I am one of the first ones to the track and the last one to leave the weight room. Inn sophomore year I received the sportsmanship award for cross country and indoor track. I recently earned my Eagle Scout rank and am an Assistant Senior Patrol Leader in my boy scout troop. I have a 3.58 GPA and am taking multiple IB and honors level classes. I would like to study foreign languages in college as well as physical sciences. I have taken classes in Spanish for most of my life and the language interests me. I also used to live in Arizona and had a Spanish speaking teacher at a very young age. I am taking physics and chemistry this year and both classes are challenging and interesting for me. A goal I have set for myself is to join the military after college whether I enlist, graduate with ROTC, or go to an academy. While in college I hope to make a positive impact on the sports or club teams I join as well as in the community and on campus and will consider all academic and athletic opportunities offered to me.
