Personal Statement
In order to be a good runner, you have to have goals.
My first goal in college is to get a college degree. Education opens doors for my future. I'm realistic and know that most people who run in college don't run professionally. I will need a college degree.
My second goal in college is to be the best teammate I can be. I encourage my teammates. I believe that good sportsmanship is a reflection of the character of the athlete. I believe in hard work. I believe that training yields results.
My third goal is to run a 5k in under 14 minutes.
What is different about me than other recruits? I don't party, drink, or smoke. I am a Christian and I love to laugh. I love to be with my family and friends. I love to do well in school. I want my team to win. I'm respectful of those who have different beliefs than me.

- I have trained as a long distance runner since 7th grade. I trained as a middle distant runner since 3rd grade.
