Personal Statement
Athletically, I went through the most cathartic experience of my high school career in sophomore year. I was transferring to Hudson Catholic Regional High School and being a developed player and a leader on St. Peter's Prep's Varsity Basketball team, I was expected to start on the Varsity Team at the new school. Because I transferred in March, Hudson’s basketball season had already ended and the team's Head Coach told had me to join them in the summer league if I was interested. In the mean time, I decided that I would join the school's Track&Field team to stay fit. During the season, I realized that I was the one of the most versatile, academically strong and dedicated members of the squad. By the time the State Sectionals rolled around, I had become an adept prospect on the team and excelled in many events without any personal training/coach. After the season, I quickly dropped basketball and realized that my real passion was in Track&Field. In just one season, I’ve built on a myriad of skills including leadership, perseverance, diligence and composure. I’m never content with my achievements, however I recognize that repeated failure is a major key to success. I’m tireless and persistent in my efforts to become better which is why I believe I can be a successful student-athlete at the next level.
I hope to be a part of a program that is as strong academically as it is athletically. A great education is the basis to a fruitful and prosperous life after college so I won’t settle for an academically sub-par school. Based on my stats I believe that I’m not only gifted enough to compete for your school, but as competitive, charismatic and physically-capable as anyone who is serious about making a splash in the Big League. It’s my ambition to compete in a D1 or D2 program after high school and I know I’m ready to help bring accolades and titles to your school!
