Hello, my name is Mike Toms. I was blessed with the ability to run very fast at a young age always being the fastest person in every school I attended. I started running track my freshman year of high school and ever since then, I've been working very hard to become the best at what I do. During my sophomore year, I qualified for the state meet in the 4x100m, but unfortunately I not able to participate due to an injury to my hip. After my recovery, I have been very concentrated on being the best runner that I can possibly become. My Personal Record for the 100m is a 10.8 and 23.0 for the 200m just after my second year. My senior year was the first year that I ran indoor track because I used to play basketball, but I gave up everything to focus on track.I have increased my talents and abilities this track season by breaking the school record in the 55m dash with a 6.38, and also helping my team qualify for I have also qualified for state in the 55m dash and the meet is this coming Saturday. My goal for my senior year is to be able to participate at the state level for the second year in a row, and I am really looking forward to running track in college. I plan on double majoring in Computer Sciences and Spanish.
I am a very respectable person and easy to teach and catch on to the little things and I work extremely hard in school and on the track. At this stage in my life, I am trying to develop a 4.0 GPA or higher and beat the school record for the 100m by the time I graduate. I have currently been able to maintain a 3.75 GPA and I am in Honors, AP and college level classes as a senior. I can not wait to see my progress this track this year and to help my teammates be the best they can be as well.
