Personal Statement
It is my dream to continue to run Track in college. I am an extremely hardworking athlete. I have persisted to continue through my training while having suffered through severe tendonitis in my knees and have come out on top. I always strive to be the very best I possible can be. Nothing gets in my way, out on the track or inside the classroom. Currently I am taking AP Physics, Honors algebra 2, and Honors Spanish. I will continue to take Honors and AP classes through to my Senior year.
I did not run Track my Freshman year in High-school because my knees were too bad. But my Sophomore year I learned to strengthen my knees so I could persist through the pain. I ran the 100m, 110m high hurdles, and 300m intermediate hurdles. In regionals I placed 2nd in the 110m high hurdles, 4th in the 100m, and 2nd in the 300m intermediate hurdles. I also participated in a 4x400 team in regionals. We placed 5th. My team did not do so well but individually I did well. I ran it in 53 seconds and it was the very first time I ever ran a 400. I went to the State meet that year and placed 4th in the 100m, 3rd in the 110 hurdles, and 2nd in the 300m hurdles.
My junior year I played football to continue my workout and keep myself fit for track season in the spring. I played Varsity my first year. I ran a 4.5 40 yard dash. During track season I competed in the 100m, 200m, 400m, 110 hurdles, and 300 hurdles. Since I had 5 events I had to drop one and I dropped the 400m at regionals. At regionals I placed 1st in the 100m, second in the 200m, 1st in the 110m hurdles, and second in the 300m hurdles. Moving on to state, I placed second in the 100m, second in the 200m, third in the 110 hurdles, and third in the 300 hurdles. I plan to only recieve state titles my senior year season.
