I first became interested in Track and Field through participating in events whilst attending middle school. During this time I realized that I had the ability to run competitively in both middle and long distance track events, and thus my goal to run in high school was established. As a member of the cross country/indoor/outdoor high school athletic team and through personal motivation, I have faced and pushed through adversity to further develop my athletic ability. The dedication and effort required for track has also influenced and enhanced my academic success at high school. Academically I am continually striving for success through taking challenging courses such as AP. Although my major for college remains undecided, I do plan to complete a four year degree with the goal to obtain a masters degree. Participation in Track and Field has allowed me to grow as an individual, but has also illustrated the value and importance of teamwork at cross country events. Track and Field has been a major influence on my life and I plan to continue it at a collegiate level.
