Personal Statement
I'm an ordinary kid with extraordinary dreams. As a young boy I had always had a lot of energy, and I loved to just run around outside for no reason at all. At times I would race my dog and she would always beat me. Then I had to move into the city, which meant I would have a 5 foot yard, and I didn't like that idea. I had to deal with the fact that I couldn’t just freely run around anymore. About a year passed after I had moved into town when I began seeing all of these high school kids running around, so I began to run with them, I couldn’t keep their pace but I could at least try. I had become friends with one of these boys who I had followed for some time and he told me all about this sport called “Track and Field” and he also invited me to one of his track meets. Obviously I said yes, and once I got to watch all of the events I knew what I wanted to do. Ever since then I have been working myself to get to the next level, I started in junior high, so I worked to get to high school. Now I’m going into my senior year of high school and I’m working to get to the next level, college.
That’s enough of my back story. School work is not my strong suit, but I have been working just as hard in the classroom as on the track. I’m an A, B, C student and I am dedicated with only 15 days missed in my high school carrier.
I am a 3-2 sport athlete. I play football and I run track, I have also wrestled. My head football coach has this thing called “Iron man” and this symbolizes the commitment of playing a sport. I have won this award for 3 years in a row now, and I plan on winning it again my senior year. To win this award you must never be late for anything like, practice, games, team dinners, skull sessions, and even the banquet at the end of the season. When I start something I put my full commitment into it, from start to finish.
Like I said before, I’m an ordinary kid with extraordinary dreams, and I’m just looking for a place where I can get my education, and compete against other great runners. Because above all, I am a competitor in everything I do, and I like to win.
