Personal Statement
My name is Brendan Oswalt. This coming fall I will be starting my senior year at Western Reserve High School in Collins, Ohio. I have been running for both the cross country and track team since 7th grade. During my freshman, sophomore and junior I was a varsity runner for both Cross Country and Track. During my junior year I was the lead distance runner for my school. I qualified for state in both cross country and track during my junior year.
This past summer I was invited to participate in the Down Under Sports Tournament in Australia. I had the privilege of being part of the East Conference Track and Field Team. During my time in Australia I competed in the 2000m steeplechase and won the gold medal.
I have an extremely strong work ethic, I continue to stay very disciplined with my running and I do not take defeat easily. I hold high expectations for myself. My goal is to continue improving my times and compete at the state level. My dream is to run at the college level. I am very willing to continue working hard to acheive my dream. My motto for this last year has been "The Future is Now". Academically and Athletically I promise to be a great asset to your team and college.
