Personal Statement
I have been running track since the fourth grade. In fourth grade I was called to run up at a meet with sixth graders in a relay and the relay finished in first. I was the team captain in my 7th and 8th grade years. I currently hold the school records in grade school in the 100, 200, 4 x 100, and standing long jump. In my first two years of high school my coach has had me running lead off for the 4x100 and 4x400 relays and anchor for the 4x200. The 4x400 relay team made it to regionals. Starting off my junior year I have been chosen as the team captain and take pride in leading practices, getting teammates together for meetings, and bringing out my teammates greatest potential. In my junior year my coach had me running mainly in the open 400, leading off the 4x400, and the 400 of the sprint medley relay. I advanced to the regionals in the open 400. I look forward to competing in high school for the next two years, where I hope to break school records especially in the 400 and place at states. I hope to run track after high school and would be honored to lead a team and help recruit other runners and be a mentor to them.
