There is so much that I can say about my life. I have a great family, great friends and a passion for sports, especially throwing disc and shot. The person that has influenced me the most is my mother. She has raised me to be the man that I am today by always pushing me to "be better" as she puts it. So I do try to be better in school, I push myself to throw farther and also to be involved not only in my school but also in the community as well.
I became interested in throwing for track during my 8th grade year. I have always played sports since I was able to walk. I was a great pitcher , first and third baseman for baseball, then I went on to play football after that and I was getting ready to possibly try something new. This particular year, my mother kept trying to get me to go out for track and I was reluctant, but then one of my teachers told me that I would be great at throwing a discus and shot put and that I had the perfect build for it. This teacher had also made it clear that I didn't have a choice and expected me to be at tryouts. So I went and I have been hooked ever since. I find myself in the off season not able to wait until the season starts. I strive to always critique by technique and PR each time I get up to throw.
Throwing for track has taught me that I will not always be "the best" and that I continually need to strive to throw farther. I have found that it is a great competitive sport for me personally and it drives me to push myself because all I have to rely on is myself and my training. If I falter and don't throw as far, the only person to blame is me and because of this, I am always trying to push myself not only on the field, but also in life.
