Personal Statement
Running at a college level has always been something that has been a dream of mine. I have worked hard throughout my high school career, overcoming injuries, adversity, and challenges. All of these obstacles that I have had to overcome have hardened me to become the runner I am today. I do not want to settle as only being a talented high school runner, but instead become a talented collegiate runner. I have always had a strong work ethic and am very determined to succeed in not only athletics, but also in the classroom. My first semester at Saint Ignatius was a tough one as I ended with a 3.3 GPA, but since then I have set my mind to improving academically and have averaged a 4.06 GPA since(combined GPA of all of my semesters except my first semester as a freshmen). My hope is that I will be able to continue to grow stronger intellectually come my senior year so that I am prepared for what College will bring. I also know and believe that I have a strong character as I have made many efforts to help those in need. I have joined clubs and programs such as Labra and Kairos Leaders which are clubs and programs that are able to make lasting impacts on others lives. I have also been elected as one of the Senior Captains for the 2021 Cross Country season. My hope is that I am able to lead the team to become not only strong runners, but also make the new freshman feel welcome and for the team to come together as a family. Running is something that I hold very dear to me and made me a better person and I hope to continue my passion and love for running at the collegiate level.
