Joshua Gornick '15 Recruiting Profile

Hello,

     My Name is Joshua Gornick and I am currently a Junior at Lehighton Area High School soon to be a Senior. I am a very hard working individual in my academics, sports, and extracurricular activities. I have took a wide range of classes in High School which include Honors, AP, and college courses. I currently maintain a 3.7GPA and have just received High Honors for marking period 3. I am also an active member in my extra-curricular activities I am a member of SADD, Student Council, and the President of our local PAFBLA Chapter as well as the Region 21 Vice President. I also am a 2014 PAFBLA State Officer Candidate. All these aspects are very important to me especially my sports. I have played Football, Cross Country, Track, and Wrestling. I was a running back and defensive back for my high school varsity football team. I ran cross country for 1 year and had a personal record of 23:05 which occured at the 2011 District 11 Championship. I am also a very dedicated and determined wrestler, I am a 3 year letter winner and was ranked 3rd all conference at 113lbs my Freshman year and 2nd all conference at 138lbs my Junior year. My junior year was the first year I participated in Track. This sport has made all the difference, it has made me a more confident, determined, and aggressive athlete. In my first of ever pole vaulting was extremely successful I managed to make it to the Mountain Valley Conference Championships where I placed 8th with a height of 10' 0" I was just shy of qualifying for the District 11 Championships. I have extreme potential in this event and plan to continue my season at indoor track meets and at my club Vertical Assault. I hope you have the opportunity to see the potential in me I would love to further my career into college.
