Personal Statement

I am interested in attending a college that has an outstanding academic reputation where I can also compete in cross country and/or track & field.  My education is very important to me and I have a keen interest in international relations/politics.  I am proud of the fact that I will be one of a handful of student athletes at my high school who will letter in two different sports for all four years while at the same time obtaining highest honors academically in a challenging "advanced placement" and "level 1" college-prep curriculum. My high school, Mechanicsburg Area Senior High, is ranked in the top 10% academically in the nation. Athletically, I am looking for a college that has a competitive cross country team where I can, with the help of my coaches and teammates, improve upon my high school success and compete at the highest level.  I believe that my running style and strength will fit nicely with the longer distance races at the collegiate cross country/track & field level. I believe I would be a significant contributor to any respective college or university and their cross country/track & field teams in light of my ability to work well as part of a team and my rigorous work ethic.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
