Colby Micheels '23 Recruiting Profile

I am a self-driven athlete who prides himself in setting my own goals and executing a plan to meet them. Through my high school career, I have consistently dropped my track and cross country times and driven myself to continually work harder, for myself and for my team. In the past three years, my cross country team --a team mostly made up of new runners and second-sport athletes--won the district title. Before I joined, the team was 7th out of 12 in the district. We pushed each other to constantly do our best while enjoying our time together and the friendship we share. Our bond has helped us to make it to States every year. We carried that bond to the indoor track season, where we placed third in the indoor DMR at States, and the outdoor season, when we took our 4x800 team to States.

My self-motivation helps me in my studies, too. I've taken six AP courses across subject areas, earned first or second honors every semester, and secured the first-ever summer internship in real estate for my high school. Since this school year started, I've been working out at the gym after practice every day and doing additional core workouts at home. I want to see how strong I can become, for myself and as a member of my team. This will be my best year yet.
