Personal Statement
My dream is to attend a college with high academic standards where I can reach my potential as an athlete. I’m a dedicated three season varsity athlete challenging myself with AP and Honors level courses. Three years of hard work in the classroom and the throwing circle are paying off and I’m positioned to make significant improvements in both my academic and athletic performance in college. As an athlete, I gained a lot of confidence in my ability to excel on the national level with my recent 2nd place performance at New Balance Nationals with two PRs in the championship flight. Training for this event, my max bench was 270 lbs and my max squat was 480 lbs and I plan to continue the grind in the weight room to increase my strength senior year. My GPA has improved year over year and I’ve developed the dedication and study skills to achieve a 3.5 GPA senior year. Also, I recently improved my SAT score by 50 points and my goal is to make another significant improvement when I repeat the SAT in August and October. I am committed to competing at the next level academically and athletically. My goal is to exceed 200 feet in Hammer throw and score points for my collegiate team by continuing to improve at the college level.
