Personal Statement
My goals are to attend a university/college where I can major in Computer Science. I am hoping to earn both an academic and athletic scholarship there. If for some reason I do not get a track scholarship, I will certainly attempt to walk-on. As a student athlete, I will try my best to always represent my university in a positive way. I fully expect to graduate from college in no more than 4 years with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Computer Science with at least a 3.0 grade point average.
I believe I am a good candidate because I am a true team player and a leader by example. As a team player, I continuously offer support and suggestions to the less experienced and welcome the same type of feedback from those already where I am trying to get to. I really enjoy the rah-rah atmosphere that is displayed when each of us gets to represent our school. I believe it really helps when others are rooting you on regardless to how you are performing that day, thus I try to be a cheerleader.
From a leadership standpoint, on several occasions I have been asked the last two years by my track coach to lead exercises in preparation to the season starting (conditioning period). I believe this is because he has confidence in my leadership ability and sincerity regarding each member of the team doing their very best.
