Connor Haaland '15 Recruiting Profile

My name is Connor Haaland and I am a student at Stevens High School in Rapid City, South Dakota. In reality, I'm just a normal high-school kid that really has a strong desire to be competitive both academically and athletically at the collegiate level and I believe I have the skill set to excel if given the opportunity. I recently was given the honor of captain for our XC team as a junior which I am really proud of and I believe that just exemplifies my characteristics of hard-work and leadership. I am a hard-worker and am extremely dedicated. In the classroom I am doing very well, in the top 1/3 of my class and I currently have a 3.59 GPA. I know what it takes to be successful in anything I do. At this point, running is a big part of my day-day life. I love the sport and what the sport is about. I love the fact that it doesn't take any crazy body type or physical characteristics, it just takes a good mindset and the will to work hard. In track my goals are to run 9:26 in the 3200m, set my schools junior class records and qualify for the Midwest Distance Festival. I would also like to win a team state title in track, to hopefully add to a state championship team one we will have from XC. I am confident in myself and my abilities and believe I have what it takes to perform competitively at the next level both in the classroom, and in the athletic realm.
