TRACK UPDATE (1/22/22): I had a blast with my teammates at two indoor meets to start the season - Texas A&M (1/8) and Arkansas (1/15). I PR'd at both meets with a 9:32.67 two-mile and 4:26.54 mile. Working hard prior to the outdoor season which starts 2/18. My goals for the season are to contribute to the success of my team, continue to grow as a track athlete and qualify for the UIL State Meet again in one event (maybe two!).
XC UPDATE (11/15/21): We had a great year in XC under the direction of our new coach. We repeated as District Champs for the second consecutive year and finished 5th overall in the State Meet. I started the season with an injury - adaptive muscle shortening - which limited my training in July and August. But with therapy and other training methods, I'm was able to come back strong and finish 2nd at both the District Meet and Regional Meet and tied for 13th at the State Meet.
PERSONAL STATEMENT: My current goals and aspirations are to focus and continue to work hard (academically and athletically) to put myself in a position to have the privilege of competing at the collegiate level and contribute to the success and excellence of my team. In doing this, I made the difficult decision to end my soccer career the Spring of 2020 and focus solely on XC and Track for my Junior and Senior seasons. I was excited to see the progress of my 1st full year of XC and Track without soccer hindering my training - but the best is yet to come! My college preference would have the right blend of academics, athletics and life experience.
I was born in Steamboat Springs, Colorado and had the privilege of living abroad for eight years - Peru and Chile - before moving to Frisco, Texas in 2014. I believe the experience of living in diverse areas helped mold my character of acceptance and appreciation of all people and cultures as well as develop a true sense of humility. But don't let my humility fool you - I'm competitive and fight like a lion for my team!
KEY CHARACTERISTICS: Unshakeable Discipline; Humble, but Confident; Truly Selfless Team Player - always put the Team first; Focused on Constant Improvement; Strong Blend of Endurance and Speed; Self-Motivated; Hard Worker; Respectful to Coaches and Teammates (really everyone); and Freakish Tolerance to Pain
