Manuel Lerma '17 Recruiting Profile

I want to succeed in everything that I do, much like every person who is competetive and sets goals would as well. I am a hard worker and tend to ask alot of questions in school and about my performance in practice and races. I am a knowlegdable person in the classroom and will keep my grades high at any cost, because at the end of the day "no pass, no play". I keep my grades up not just for sports, but beacause my education is important to me. I plan to graduate with a Masters degree in my preferable field of choice. Currently I am a member of NHS and take that role as a member to be a leader in school and serve my communuty. I am a friendly, goofy and talkative person and work well with everybody! I am willing to put it in the extra work to keep progressing in hurdles, and I will drop time. No matter what. I never accept losing. I use the races that I have lost to drive my competetive mentality and work ethic on the track. Competing in world wide competitions in martial arts at the age of 6-11; I think has impacted my confidence in a positive way when I compete, and leaves me unfazed by the competition behind the blocks.
