Landon Thornton

As a student & athlete I am dedicated to towards furthering my Cross Country, Track and, Academic goals. I am a Leader, Athlete & student. Although they all go hand and hand with each other. I am a dedicated runner here for the long haul my passion for running runs through my blood & veins. I would love to have the opportunity to run on the collegiate level.

  • Started running track 2400m & 1600m back in 8th grade because I've always had the natural ability to run for long distances. Then in the summer before my 9th grade year I began training with some of the upper class men who ran Cross Country & Track they suggested that I try out for Varsity Cross Country. Before I new it I was number four varsity runner, and I just fell in love with Cross Country, the atmosphere and the large community of people who loved to run. When spring rolled around and track season started I ran the 3200m & 1600m. After track season ended I took a two week break then started training for half marathons and just going out and running 15+ miles consecutively and about averaging 40 miles a week. I am a distance runner for sure I love running as long as I can and pushing by body to the limits. When the Cross Country season started I was the number two runner for the team I carried the number two spot throughout the season around 8 seconds behind are number one. At district I placed 9th in the district and 2nd on the team. We are advancing to region in two weeks.

Yes. I am in honors Chemistry and History although I should have done honors Geometry this year, but the Cross Country period conflicted with honors Geometry and other classes so I took regular Geometry 10th grade year.
