Personal Statement
I'm not sure what I want to major in yet, but I do know that I want to run in college. Ever since I began running, I've loved it; it's become a part of me that I can't even remember living without. After all, would someone who didn't enjoy it do upwards of 80 miles a week? I believe it's safe to assume that it will remain a central point of my life for as long as it is possible for me to continue it. Maybe more than just the physical aspect of running, it is the mentality that comes with it that appeals to and intrigues me; the mentality that there's never a point of "good enough". You can be the best in the state, country, world, etc., but if you become content with that, and don't continually push yourself to become better, there's always going to be someone who's working harder than you because they really do want to get better. There is no limit to what one can accomplish if they acknowledge this and apply it to all areas of their life. No matter what it is, you should strive to better yourself in it. In the end, the only limits that have any hold are the ones you set on yourself; only you can tell yourself that you're not good enough, and only you can tell yourself that these words mean nothing. I understand this and have put it into practice in all aspects of my life whether it be running, academics, or anything else.
