Personal Statement
My objective in life is to become a successful veterinarian and eventually open my own private practice. In order to reach that goal I know it will take immense determination and a consistent work ethic to reach it. I believe that God has given me the ability to run for the purpose of achieving this goal. Therefore, I will continue to work hard towards that goal until I attain it.
I work hard on the track and give one hundred percent at everything. I get along well with my coaches and teammates, and enjoy helping out others. Running is something I am good at, and I constantly push myself to get faster. I love the feeling of reaching a new PR or victory and put in the time it takes to achieve it. I realize that college is an essential step towards reaching my life's goal and want to continuously push myself and experience the competition available at a collegiate level. I believe I would not disappoint if given the chance by a recruiter.
Off the track, I am critical of my performance in school. Checking in on the status of my grades is a normality for me and I am well acquainted with my teachers. I don't accept mediocrity in my assignments and always make sure that reflects in my work. I am a member of National Honor Society and the only sophomore at my school's branch. Attending a school where everyone is expected to uphold a high academic standard, I am always seeking to stand out amongst my peers.
I know that I can go far with my running and wish to continue to do so beyond high school into college. I truly believe I'd be an exceptional addition to a collegiate team and won't fall short of expectations. Ultimately I want to become a better runner, student, and person as a whole. Furthermore, I am willing to continue to strive towards my life's goal and make my family proud.
