Running, for me, is not so much a sport anymore as it is a lifestyle. For the past 5 years, 7th grade to present, I've dedicated countless hours and miles training and improving myself on and off the track. You could say I eat, sleep, and breathe running.
As my senior year is inching ever so closer, I find it a little surreal to see how far I've come. Not too long ago I was just a lanky 13 year old looking to fit in a sport that didn't involve getting tackled. Yet now, I feel I'm ready to take on this next step up in competition and in life. Running collegiately is now the dream!
I'd say my biggest strength is my tenacity on the track or course . I'm not afraid to take the lead or challenge for the crucial positions. More over, my love for competition is what sets me apart from other athletes. Knowing that there are bigger and better runners out there drives me to train harder to be the best. Another important tenant for me is teamwork. I want to be on a team that looks out for everyone and will push each other hard in workouts. Being on a strong team who supports one another is vital.
I'm very strong academically. I hold a 3.54 GPA and I only take advanced classes. In other words, you'll never have to worry about me failing out of school.
All and all, I feel ready to take this new step. I look forward to the challenges that await me as well as the success!
