Personal Statement
Currently Committed to Washburn University!
My goals for my last track season are to qualify for regionals and run near a 4:20 1600m, and either 1:57 800m, or 9:30 3200m depending on whichever event the team needs me to focus on this year. Earlier this year at the beginning of the XC season myself and other leaders on my team set goals to qualify for state as a team this year and we achieved that goal. Now for me, all that's left is to lay down some fast times during track and hopefully help my team contend for our 8th consecutive district title. I strongly believe that my 5k time is not a true representation of my abilities due to the course conditions in the later half of my season so I feel this track season will help me prove my abilities on a bigger level. During the season on race day I'm 100% locked in on my goals for that day, whether that be place or time. I can't wait for the opportunity to compete at the collegiate level because it has been a dream of mine since 8th grade. An additional goal of mine is to coach at the collegiate level. A graduate assistant program would be an excellent next step after my college running career.
