I started running during seventh grade cross country season. The main reason I got into running was because my grandfather ran many long distance events in his early years. My first race I placed 3rd out of forty kids, that’s when I knew I could get into this sport. In Junior High, I broke records and helped take the team to district. In high school, I have run on the Varsity Cross Country team all three years and helped take my team to Regionals three years in a row and hope to make State my Senior year. The thing that I most enjoy about running is that when I run my mind feels free with no ties or problems. Whether I run in College or for fun, I will always be in my flats hitting the trails and roads, because it has become such a big part of me. Running has also helped me academically because I’ve had to focus and get good grades to stay on the team. I recently made the National Honor Society. I have also started to compete in Triathlon's during the off-season as part of a cross training program. I really enjoy the tri event race.
