Gilberto Castro '15 Recruiting Profile

Kinesiology is what I want to study because I want to become a personal trainer, and I want to help others to become who they really want to be and be the best they can be. My GPA at 2.6, and I am currently on a pace to get a 3.0 this semester. I have recently learned how important it is to keep my GPA as high as possible. I am committed for the rest of my senior year and for all four years in college to be the best student I can be and to keep my GPA as high as possible

What makes me a good candidate is that I train all year around, so i never take a break from throwing the discus and lifting weights. I'm different from the rest by working hard through the good days, but really grinding and pushing myself on my bad days the most. I truly believe in that an athlete will do anything and everything to separate themselves from average to become great and that's what I do everyday. My academics are great I get A's and B's because an athlete also most be intelligent than just skilled in sports.
