Personal Statement
I hope to go to a DI or DII college and run track, as well as attending school for academics. I currently run the 400 meter dash, 1600 meter relay, and the sprint relay. I am a very strong candidate for a college team, because I am very athletic, a hard worker, and am willing to do whatever it takes to reach personal and team goals.
To be a good athlete, you must be a good motivator, motivating not only yourself, but your teammates. I am an All-State quarterback and all-District point guard. These two positions require a leader as well as a team player and that is why I have been chosen for these positions.
While I enjoy football and basketball, track is my real passion. I currently run a personal best of a 50.00 (hand timed) in the 400m, which is my favorite distance. I have ran first leg and third leg, but usually anchor Wink's 1600m relay. I will run whatever position my coach needs me to run, because I will do whatever it takes for our team to win. I also do triple jump, with a personal best of 41'7.
I won the 400m at State with a 50.65. Our mile relay won with a time of 3:28.64. My split was a 48.9. We also placed in the 4x100 with a 5th place showing. Several things make me different than other recruits. I make sure that my teammates meet their personal goals and as a team we do our best together, every time. I am a Student Council Officer which takes tremendous time, effort, dedication, leadership, and organization. We've won many state awards as well as national. I attend sports camps and play 7on7 during the summer, as well as working at a ranch.
I do this, as well as continually working out, to improve over the summer and come back each year stronger than the year before. I work tirelessly for my coaches and do everything that is requested of me, take direction well, and am a hard worker. I am very coachable, meaning I am willing to adapt to best suit the needs of the team. I am an unselfish player, but want to be the very best I can be.
