Personal Statement
I began running in my freshman year of high school as a way to become involved and meet new people. I quickly realized that I enjoyed the sport and even more the team spirit. Within the first week of summer conditioning, I joined the varsity members on long runs. Despite its individual times, teamwork is essential to the success of any runner. I earned a varsity letter my freshman year in Cross Country. In the spring I played lacrosse, a sport I had played since elementary school. I found that my love of running was greater than lacrosse. So,I continued my passion for running my sophomore year when I joined the Track and Field team in the spring. I earned a varsity letter in Track and Field also. Running at the collegiate level will fulfill a dream. In college, I would like to pursue a degree in the field of Engineering. The field of Engineering offers many opportunities; the areas of greatest interest to me include mechanical, chemical, and aerospace.
