Personal Statement
Hello! My name is Andrew Lackey and I am in the 10th grade. I will graduate high school in 2016 and one of my main goals for track is to break 4:20 on the 1600 meter. As for this year in spring track, I am training to break a 5 minute mile and 11:15 on the 2 mile. I plan to run Cross Country and Track for the rest of high school and college.
Update: I am now in 11th grade. I ran my first season of cross country this year on the varsity team. My main event is still the 2 mile for indoor and outdoor track. My average 2 mile split for a 5k this fall was around 10:25 and I plan to break 10:00 minutes in this winter track season.
Update: I am now the XC/Distance captain for my team as a high school senior. My main goal this XC season is to break 15:30 for a full 5K and 9:30 for the 2 mile later this year. Through my hard work this year, I am confident that a spot on a collegiate NCAA distance team is within reach.
