Personal Statement
Hi, my name is RayKwon. I have always aspired to work in law enforcement, either the K-9 force or FBI. I strive to help others and with my career goals I am certain that I will attain those goals. Currently I volunteer every summer with Autistic children for a local organization called F.A.C.T. , I have been doing so since 2014. I guide, teach, play and befriend the kids and young adults at this summer camp. I believe my time at F.A.C.T has helped to direct me with certainty of my career path.
I have been playing sports since I was 5 years old. I started with Football, basketball, baseball, karate, wrestling and track. I have always been athletic and have spent the majority of my childhood focusing on being so. Up until this past summer of 2015 football was a big piece of my heart, then I met my current track coach. Although I had ran track in middle school and my sophomore year as well, I had never truly loved it, then Coach Rose came into my life. I learned that sometimes it just takes one person to truly inspire you and change your life's course and that is what my coach did for me. I have fallen in love with Track and Field. It is a feeling that is indescribable, but yet exhilarating. I have every hope to continue on to the college level and build this love that I have.
My academics up until this point in my life have been just average. I have just been floating by (just being honest). I realize that my academics are even more important then my athletics. I have always had the impression it was the other way around. See I just never applied myself, but now that I have been applying myself I realized my parents were right, and getting good grades feels even better then doing a good job on the field. I enjoy learning and have promised myself that since I have waited so long I have to give my academics 200%.
