My name is Jacob Burggraff and I am currently a high school Junior. Throughout my education I never imagined or intended to play sports past high school, but as I have grown I have decided that it would be a path I would be willing to take if the opportunity arises. Something that most high school students can't say they are accomplishing is that I am currently taking college classes through the Running Start Program. I will have my Associates Degree by the time I graduate high school. Not only am I taking much advanced classes, I have managed to hold my GPA to around a 3.95 cumulative. Although I do not consider my athletic ability to be much out of the ordinary, I feel that I can very easily improve and learn from my superiors and peers. I am a great leader and am willing to be actively involved in my team, school work, and the life of my peers. Although my records for javelin are not very high, my progress is shown in the little time I have put into it. I have had to deal with lower back problems since last year and it has hindered my performance and practice. But, even with the injury I have managed to increase my personal record by nearly twenty feet since last year with no practice or training (due to my injury and limited time outside of practice due to my school regime). I know for a fact that if I had the opportunity to play a college sport I would continue to grow as a student and as an athlete.
