Personal Statement
Running has always been a big part of what i do. I have been running since i was 9 years old and have always had a passion for the sports of Track and Cross country. I would love to run at the collegiate level if given the oppurtunity.
Running has not always come easy i have had to overcome lots of adversity to get where i am today. My freshman and sophmore season i had to overcome a knee injury that was very challenging. I had to sit out my whole sophmore cross country season and was determined to be healthy and succuessful in outdoor track. The meet before regionals i ran a 4:53 and was far off the qualifying times to make it to state. At regionals i ran a 4:42 and achived my goal and made it to state. This was one of the first times i truly believed in myself and was able to accomplish my goals. I believe to be able to run at the next level i need to know how to overcome adversity and how to accomplish goals, and truly believe as a runner i have these qualities.
I also know to run at the next level i need to be able to great in the classroom. As a student i have achieved a 3.4 GPA and am going to take the ACT in the spring. At school i am on my schools student council and i know what it means to be a leader. I hold the position of secretary and love to help out my school in any way that i can. I love being a leader whether on the track or in the classroom.
I would love the opportunity to compete at the next level. I believe my leadership skills and my ability to accomplish my goals would make me a great competitor but also a great student at the collegiate level.
