My name is Jackson Burge I am a 6'6" 200lb. outside hitter/middle blocker and I'm open and willing to play any other position. I am a going to be a Senior at Deer Valley High School in Glendale, AZ. In 2010 as a freshman I was a starter on my high school varsity team which won their first State Championship in the 5A-1 Division. We had an unbelievable season in 2010 we went undefeated 22-0 all the way through the State Championship Tournament. I also received Northwest Region Volleyball Honorable Mention award. I am also a starter on my 17's team, Arizona Fear Volleyball Club which took 9th in the nation in the Club Division at the 2010 Jr. Boy's National Tournament in Austin, Texas. The things I will offer to a team: leadership, hard work, a positive attitude even if the score isn't in our favor, mental toughness and an absolute passion for the sport. As for where I want to go, I'm extremely open minded to the size, geographical location and the religious background of the school. As for a major, I'm interested in Sports Medicine, Health & Fitness and related fields. The goals and expectations I set for myself are high but can be reached with my hard work and dedication. My personal goals are to go to a college and play men's volleyball for four years. I'm looking for a school with a competitive appetite both in practice and at game time. I want to play I don't want to ride the bench. My goals also extend to the class room I hold myself to a high standard in regards to my school work just like I do on the court. Anything below an A or B in any class, honors or not, tells me I need to start hitting the books harder. My dream is to one day play for the USA Men's National Volleyball team. In my pursuit of this dream I've attended the USA High Performance Tryouts in 2009 & 2010. I was invited to participate in the USA HP A3 Camp in Long Beach, California both years. It was a great experience getting coached by some of the best college volleyball coaches in the country. Not to mention playing with some of the best volleyball players in the US. The skills, knowledge and personal experiences I've taken from these programs have enhanced me as an athlete and a person. Undoubtedly the experiences I have acquired will help me throughout my life and will forever be a part of the person I want to become. I am confident that the physical and mental skills and the knowledge of the game that I have obtained in the six years that I have been playing volleyball will make me an asset to any team at any level.
