Cody Chacon '16 Recruiting Profile

As a student I strive to earn higher than a 4.0 GPA by working hard, doing my homework, studying, and always challenging myself with AP and honors classes. I'm in TDA (Technical and Digital Arts) council which strives to create a better environment for the students in the academy. Currently I'm the vice-president; my goal is to claim the president position in my senior year, I am confident I will succeed.

As far as volleyball is concerned, I have been playing since freshman and earned a captain's position my sophomore year. I believe that I earned this captain's position so early is because I never skip practices unless serious conditions require it of me, I show up to practice early every day, I have never missed a game or tournament, I never let a ball drop without hitting the floor myself, I try to do as my coach says in hopes that my knowledge gained from them will improve me as a player, and I play for fun but also to win.

Consequently my attitude remains one of the best on any team I have played for; any mistake I make, I use as a learning opportunity rather than getting discouraged and bring my team down. In games, I try to keep a smile on my face to show no signs of weakness to other teams as well as portray confidence to my teammates.

Outside of school and club I play sand volleyball on a weekly basis to further my skills as well as go to the gym nearly every other day to stay fit for volleyball.
