Jack Mitchner '17 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing volleyball since the age of 10.  I strive to be just like my father who played with/against some of the volleyball legends like Sinjin Smith and Pat Powers. Playing collegiate level volleyball has been one of my goals ever since I started volleyball.

To make my dream a reality I have switched from Club West to the Prestigious Santa Monica Beach Volleyball Club (SMBC 18 Black) to gain more knowledge and make my volleyball IQ sharpened in the hopes of playing in college.

I have a strong jump float serve, quick movement, and a high volleyball IQ. I am a team leader and try to lead by example while also encouraging my teammates even when they are struggling. I am very coachable and strive to be one of the hardest working players and one of the hardest working recruits you’ll find. Perfection is my goal and I will not stop practicing and working until I have reached this goal.

In the classroom, I study hard and maintain my GPA. I volunteer after school to assist the Athletic Trainer through the Sports Medicine Club at Damien High School. I also volunteer at homeless shelters at least twice a month

I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and on the volleyball court. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to become a great role model to all peers and make my parents proud.
