Hi! My name is Dylan Stump and I have just started my Senior year at Long Beach Polytechnic HS. My collegiate goal is to attend a 4 year university and major in Computer Science. I hope to be a software developer/computer programmer after I graduate.
I finished my 2014-2015 season at High Line VBC where I played both Opposite and Outside for the year. I played both positions for my high school varsity team during the spring season as well. My 17's club team did go to Junior Nationals but we did not do as well as we had hoped. It is always a great experience to play there and see what the competition is like from all over the country.
I am playing for Long Beach Volleyball Club (formerly High Line VBC) on their 18's-1 team this year. Currently I am training six days a week between my club and school. My goal is to improve not only as an outside hitter but as an all around player. I am looking forward to tournaments starting in a couple weeks and seeing what my team can accomplish together.
I think what sets me apart is that I have a good attitude, I am teachable and want to always learn to be a better player. I am also a committed person that does not make excuses.
This past summer I enjoyed playing in tournaments on the beach with my friends and continuing to grow in my skills and strength.
Academics have to come first, but I will do my best to organize my time so that I can be both a great student as well as athlete. I have a passion for playing volleyball and really want to play at the college level. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Dylan Stump
