When I was a freshman at Tesoro High School, I never knew that I was going to be playing volleyball. I was originally trying out for their baseball program but ended up not making the team. This only led to bigger opportunities for me because I had a few friends that encouraged me to try out for volleyball and I earned a spot on the freshman team. I immediately fell in love with the sport and could not get enough of it. It gave me a greater perspective on teamwork, commitment, leadership, and collaboration with your other team-mates that I had never put much thought into before.
As a new volleyball player I was considered tall and they needed me as a middle blocker. I know that now being 16 and 6' tall is not ideal on paper BUT I have power and can jump. Coaches have praised me in the past as having a really good work ethic and being very coachable to whatever their needs were. I enjoy playing a middle blocker but if height is an issue, I am open to learning other positions.
My main goal in college is to get a good education and play a sport I love.
