Personal Statement
I have been playing volleyball for five years, since I was 12. Ever since that first day that my sisters played with me at the gym, and showed me how pass, I've loved the game. Any chance I have to play, I take. Weather it be open gyms at my church, during Club season, during school season, or playing sand volleyball during the summer, I am always eager to play. I have always longed to play at a higher level, and that has pushed me to train to be a better player. Watching college matches on TV sparked a fire in me to aspire to play in college, and that fire has kept growing with each year as I grow closer to going to college.
On the court, I am a team player, constantly keeping others attitudes up, especially if we are down a few points. I love being a supportive figure on the court for my team mates. I have accurate passes, a strong serve, and I am quick and aware on the court, by reading blocks and hits, and covering for hits on my own side.
In school, I participate in Student Government, in which I plan many things around the school, including Prom, other dances, assemblies, spirit weeks, etc. I am very involved with my school, and I am very dedicated to getting assignments done to better my school.
What I hope to get out of playing college level volleyball is to improve my abilities, and play with a hard working team that is just as dedicated as I am to volleyball, and who shares a love for the game. I also hope to expand my academics in college, by taking a variety of classes, to explore my options of what I might desire to pursue and continue to study.
