Personal Statement
Volleyball has helped me grow to become a great communicator and leader on and off the court, and I will carry those lessons with me into college. My Name is Griffin Hotchkiss, I am 15, and a 6'5, 155 lb outside hitter. As a younger freshman, I played varsity at Bear Creek High School and then started OH on varsity as a Sophomore. This summer I participated in USA Volleyball Beach National Team Development Program (NTDP) and I am returning in October. I am also extremely interested in participating in indoor NTDP this season. This year I will be playing on the 17-1s team at Elevation Volleyball Club. I first became interested in volleyball three years ago when I was introduced to Flourish Beach's volleyball program in Evergreen Colorado run by Nate Yang. I instantly fell in love with volleyball, and soon after I joined Elevation Volleyball Club's 14s team as a Freshman. After That, I joined Front Range Volleyball Club 16s team Coached by Ryan Ammerman as a Sophomore and made huge strides physically and mentally.
In addition to volleyball, I have a 2nd degree black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do, experience acting in supporting and lead roles in musical theater, all-county level music skills on percussion and piano and I have served for two years on my student government in addition to being a certified lifeguard. For the next two years of high school, I intend to keep growing, with volleyball and academically. I will continue to take the most challenging classes offered and keep my 4.0 GPA. My goal after high school is to play D1/D2 Volleyball at a college that will continue to help me grow and learn within my interests.
