Personal Statement
I have been playing volleyball since my freshman year of highschool. I have played multiple sports all my life including football, baseball, basketball, and soccer but once I started playing volleyball I didn't want to stop. I've never had this much of a passion for something before and I want to continue playing for as long as possible.
I've acquired a very high volleyball IQ over the past few years along with a strong jump serve and a great hitting range through playing high school and club ball. From being team captain of my school team 2 years in a row, I have learned great leadership skills and try my best to lead by example, helping out if I see someone struggling with something like a proper arm swing or being in the right spot. I am also very coachable and am constantly striving to improve by going to practice early and getting extra reps.
As for schooling, I work extremely hard to keep my grades up and do my best to balance my academic and athletic life. My high school was ranked 8th most rigorous school in the nation when I entered as a freshman and is ranked as the 3rd most challenging school in the state this year according to The Washington Post. This being said, I am no stranger to lots of hard work.
I want to attend a college that can offer me a great education and that challenges me academically but I also want a college that I can continue playing the sport that I love at the highest level possible.
