Personal Statement
My dream is to go Division 1 as a libero/ds.. I want to be one of the few boys volleyball players from Iowa to go Division 1. I think I would be a good candidate for many schools because I'm extremely hard working, determined, and passionate about the sport. Also, when it comes down to playing the sport, I have good ball control and know how to be a leader on the court. I was apart of the u19 Beach Volleyball U.S. National Team, which has helped me learn how to compete and play at the highest level for my age group. Although it's not indoor volleyball, my experience on the beach National Team has taught me defensive skills that translate greatly to my indoor game.
I feel that what makes me different from other recruits, character wise, is that I love to volunteer and work with special needs people. I have done a lot of volunteering and assisting with them, starting from when I was a young kid in elementary school. Helping others is very important to me.
Athletically, my speed is probably my biggest strength. As a freshman in high school, I set records for my school and placed at state for track and field. Also, my vertical jump is fairly high.I did the same thing my sophomore year, placing in the 400 hurdles while earning my schools most outstanding hurdler award.
Academically, I would say that I am just as strong, if not stronger, as I am athletically. While taking two honors courses my freshman year, I managed to maintain a 4.0 GPA. Sophomore year, I maintained an unweighted 4.0 while taking both college and honors courses. Weighted, I earned a 4.2. Academics are extremely important to me and I have always worked very hard at them. Junior year I earned two B's overall but maintained a weighted GPA of 4.0
