Personal Statement
I believe that I could provide a valuable contribution to your volleyball program. First, I have been playing competitive sports since I was 10 and competitive club volleyball since my freshmen year. As a freshman I played JV for a very competitive varsity team that was 3rd in state and the 16 1s team at Pipeline Volleyball club. My birthday is on the cutoff so I have been playing a year “up” my whole volleyball career. Playing with older players has provided a lot of experience from a volleyball stand point and accelerated my play level.
As a sophomore I made the varsity squad and was one of the starting outsides. We lost first round in sectionals that year. After that hard loss my twin brother and I and another sophomore from our high school decided to make the long commute to Sports Performance volleyball club which both my brother and made the 18 2s team. The hour and a half one way commute, practices three to four times a week taught me a lot about commitment. I believe that you will find me to be competitive, coachable, a leader and great teammate.
Another kind of commitment I have made along with my twin brother is Broncos Committed. Broncos Committed is a national program at our school for a student athlete that wants to make the commitment to a healthy life style including drug and alcohol free. I was selected by are coach to be one of two players to represent our team with other area high schools.
When I am not focusing on volleyball I am studying, working on my jeep, and you can always find me either at the woodshop at school or our woodshop at home. Though I am still exploring what I want to study, I am very interested in forestry, environmental science, and history and maybe teaching/coaching.
