Personal Statement
My name is Andrew Chen and I am a motivated student athlete with a goal to become a sports medicine physician while continuing to compete in men's volleyball in college.
In the 2017-2018 collegiate season at Clarke University, my role on Varsity was as a defensive and serving specialist. I was a starting setter/libero for my 18's club team for three years. Last summer, I played on the USA HP Continental team under coach Nickie Sanlin. As a setter, I run a fast-paced offense, and as a defender, my style is aggressive and instinctual. I will do whatever it takes to get to help my team.
I am a determined person willing to challenge myself when there is a set goal placed. I am a competitor no matter where I am and I will do anything to reach my goal.
My current academic goals are to major in bio-chemistry and then enroll in medical school and eventually become a Sports Medicine physician.
