Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Parker Hill and I play volleyball for my high school team, Shenendehowa and my club team, the Capital Sliders. I have been the starting libero for three (now 4) years for both my JV team and for Varsity as a junior. We relocated my freshmen year to a new state (PA to NY) and new high school. I was one of the shorter players at the tryouts but I was also the best passer, so I was put in the role of libero and I have played that position for three years. During club season I was always pulled up to play libero with the older players because of my passing ability. Now, as a senior I am no longer the shortest and though I am still a great passer, I will be moving to outside hitter this season. I am continuing to grow as a player and I hope to expand my volleyball skills into consistent hitting and blocking but I will also always be comfortable in the back row and of course diving and getting those hard to hit shots. I am open to continuing to play volleyball at any level but my academics are also important to me. I plan to study engineering in college and I am open to moving anywhere as I have already lived in many places (NY, GA, CA, Japan, PA) and I am comfortable with change. Keep an eye on my ever-changing height and stats. (11/5/16) During the middle of this 2016 season, I was asked to go back to the libero position to make sure our team's passing was on the spot and strengthen our team. After changing back to libero, we were able to beat our two toughest competitors and won both our conference and sectionals.
