Personal Statement
This year I have faced major adversary in terms of my health. At the beginning of club season in the fall, I tore 2 ligaments in my shoulder. I went to physical therapy daily so that I would be able to continue playing.. This continued all through the fall and winter until High School season began. I felt ready to go and my shoulder was not even a factor. But, during the first scrimmage of the season, I fell again tearing 2 more ligaments in my shoulder. Thus, my doctor informed me that I would have to sit out all of my Junior year. This news was heartbreaking at first, but after much thought, I realized that I would be able to put forth my high volleyball IQ in a different way to benefit the team. I am currently an assistant to Coach and he takes my feedback and listens to what I have to say. I am happy that just because of my injury, I will not stop thinking about volleyball and expanding my volleyball IQ. I hope to be back on the court by mid June and playing club ball by the fall. I hope to be playing for the Warren Six Pack 18 2's team. I hope that I can bounce back from this injury with more to gain than to lose. I want to prove that a small hindrance cannot stop me and I will always be learning and adapting to change. I hope that all of my lessons learned throughout my volleyball career help me on my future endeavors and thus put me in a good place to continue my career at a higher level.
