Personal Statement
My name is Daniel Koloff, and I am a senior at Delaware Christian School. Because my school does not have a men's volleyball team and because I love the sport so much, I compete at Olentangy Liberty High School. Ever since I was in elementary school I have been interested in volleyball and have made it my goal to play competitively in high school and in college. Watching my sister play in college when I was young and attending many "girls only" volleyball camps and practices at DCS, made me a well rounded player and extremely knowledgeable of the sport before I even started my first club season. My sophomore year in high school was the first year I became a part of Vanguard Volleyball in which I played opposite on the Vanguard 16 National team. The same year, I joined the OLHS men's volleyball varsity team and became the starting setter and opposite. Currently, during the school season, I set and hit right-side on varsity, and for club, I play opposite on the Vanguard 17 Gold team. For the rest of high school and in college, I plan on continuing to become a better volleyball player, always looking for ways to improve in all areas.Off the court, first and foremost, I am dedicated towards my relationship with my Savior, Jesus. Because of Him and His love, I am motivated to be one who constantly strives to do the right thing. This motivation has led me to work hard in school where I currently maintain a 4.22 GPA and stay on the Honor Role. Besides my academics and athleticism, music is something that is close to my heart. I have played the piano since 2nd grade and the trumpet in my school's band since 5th grade. At the start of my junior year, I became the praise team leader in my school's praise band in which I play piano and sing. As for college, I plan on majoring in Pre-Med where I will continue to work hard to be the best doctor or physician's assistant I can be.
