Personal Statement
My passion is volleyball and improving my volleyball skills. I enjoy it so much that I could exclude all other activities and be perfectly happy. But that wouldn't be healthy - so I also focus my energy on doing my very best in school and growing as a person through community projects and youth ministry. To be well-rounded means to have many different experiences and qualities. Academically I value the challenge of being in the top honors programs at one of the hardest schools in the region, taking a variety of accelerated classwork. Athletically, I've had many different experiences including club soccer on a top 32 team in the midwest region, and grade school basketball where I lead my team in assists, scoring, and rebounding. I enjoy competition, and drive myself to succeed. I feel certain I can help a collegiate team succeed.
My goal is to play college volleyball while pursuing a great education that I can use once my volleyball career has run its course. All great things come to an end, but volleyball will always be a part of my life. I grew to love volleyball by learning from my father and watching him enjoy the sport. When I'm on the volleyball court, it feels like I was born to play. Leadership, teamwork, and integrity are qualities I will bring to a college program where I play.
