Personal Statement
My name is Jacob Zemba, and I am a setter for the Derry Area High School Class of 2015 and Pittsburgh Volleyball Club. I have played volleyball since I was a freshman, and I love it more every day. When I step onto the court, I am not only trying to make myself better but also my team.
Volleyball is my passion and my dream is to play competitively in college while pursuing my academic degree. I am searching for the best blend of high-level volleyball and academic excellence.
Some of my best accomplishments to date are being selected to the All-District Second Team for the 2014 season by the Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association and competing at the 2014 Boys’ Junior National Championships in Houston, Texas.
I am open to any school and division, from Division I to the club level. I will work extremely hard, play with passion and enthusiasm, and strive to be the best I can be on and off the court. I have been raised with the value that everything in life is earned, not given, and I will work as hard as I can to earn a chance to play for a team at the collegiate level.
