My name is Matt Hartberger and I have played volleyball since 7th grade. Every year I have been the leading setter on my high school team. For the past 2 years I have been honored to be co captain, helping to lead the team to two undefeated, state championships.
My volleyball career began by going to a volleyball clinic at my school with no intentions of actually pursuing volleyball. At this clinic, the coach recognized that I had a natural skill of setting. He then asked me to play for him the next year and I fell in love with the game. Since then I have diligently worked to improve my skills and have a reputation of being the best setter and one of the strongest blockers in my conference. Now six years later I am striving to play at the collegiate level.
I have almost always been a leader in anything I do. I strive to be an example that anyone would look up to. I never want to be known as a quitter so I strive to follow through and accomplish all that I set my mind to.
I am still undecided as to what area I would like to study in college, but my interests are in biology and criminal justice. My academic goals are to maintain a high GPA in high school and to graduate top of my class. In college I will strive to maintain a high GPA and be the best student I can be while improving my skills in volleyball.
