I have been wanting to pursue a career in the medical field as an anesthesiologist and have been taking rigorous courses in high school such as AP US History, AP English Language, Dual Enrollment Math IV/College Algebra and Trig, etc. I want to go into the medical field to help other people and also so I can support my own family and take care of them just as they have taken care of me throughout my adolescent years. My volleyball career began my sophomore year as I started to manage the girls' volleyball team. I had aspired to do more than manage but we had no mens' team and after many attempts, my school had not allowed me to play girls' volleyball or softball since there were no counterparts. The girls' volleyball coach does give me many opportunities to play and practice with them everyday. I have dreamed of actually being a true part to a volleyball team and practice at school and on my own, for the hope that I could join a team one day. West Virginia is a quite secluded state and has not integrated mens' volleyball teams into any schools or clubs, especially in the southern part. There are some teams that are far away that I could participate in but with school, managing teams and getting ready for my senior year, I unfortunately don't have the time to travel hours a day for practices or games. I truly wish to excel in my medical aspirations and also in collegiate volleyball, which are both important passions of mine.
